Archeology For more than 40 years an archeological expedition of Uzbekistan, which is unique in the whole of Central Asia, works in the Southern part of the country. During the excavations this expedition has discovered the following ruins of the antique Central Asia:Dalverzin-tepa, Halchayan, Ayritam, Kampir-tepa, Kizil-tepa. The world's famous treasure - 36 kg of gold, about 25 sculptures of various characters of the high society and over 30 sculptures of Buddha, Bodhisattva and other characters were discovered there. The earliest ivory chess figures, wall paintings, coins with face of Kushan King were also found there. Most of these findings were exhibited at the International expositions in Tokyo, Nara, Paris, Washington, Zurich, Stuttgart, Hanover etc. All these findings are exhibited in the museum of the Research Institute located in the center of Tashkent. Within 40 years the outstanding archeologist, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor Bahodir Turgunov, continuously heads this expedition. All images are property of Karavan Saray company
